We are located in Lawton, Oklahoma, at 1515 West Gore Boulevard. Our Staff
- David Jackson (owner): A 1975 graduate of Lawton Eisenhower High School and a 1979 graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a BA in music degree, David has been with the company since 1980. At that time he was Store Manager, until January of 1998 when owner Don Phillips retired and sold the business to him. Along with a degree in piano, he has been involved with electronic keyboards since 1979, when as keyboardist with Wings of Light, a contemporary Christian band, his setup consisted of a Rhodes electric piano and an early Roland monophonic synthesizer. He still performs and records with several local musicians in various styles, including big-band jazz, contemporary Christian, and salsa.
- David Wilson (guitar department manager): David took charge of guitar sales, maintenance, and repair in mid-April 2004. He is no stranger, however, having worked here part-time from 1992 through 1995. He has taught private guitar lessons for over twelve years and has performed with several local bands over the years. He has fully embraced computer-based recording, operating a project studio at his home and providing hands-on product support on our in-store PC.
- Graydon Miller Jr.: Graydon came to work part-time in 1988 after "retirement" from thirty years as owner of Miller Band Instrument Company. His knowledge of the band instrument industry has proved invaluable as Phillips Music expanded into that market. (Note: Graydon passed away in March of 2002. His contribution to the Lawton music community will be missed, and his bio remains here as a small tribute.
- Melissa Caswell: Melissa joined the crew here in May of 2007. She is currently a Music (Ed) major at Cameron University here in Lawton. A graduate of Elgin High School, she's a clarinet player and a self-proclaimed "Band Nerd" (that's a good thing :-)
- Kaetlyn Brennan: Kaetlyn started part-time with us in mid-August of 2007. A recent graduate of Lawton High School, where she was active in Band, Vocal Music, and Yearbook, she is a Freshman at Cameron University.
- Stephen McRae: Stephen is the newest member of the Phillips staff, having joined April 2008. A 2007 Lawton high graduate, he is also a Cameron student. A guitar player since age 16, he's especially fond of music from the 60's.
